Here's the computer that I want to buy -> Ecco il computer che voglio comprare

These are the students that are leaving for Madrid -> Questi sono gli studenti che partiranno per Madrid

 That's the man whose wife works with my daughter -> Quello è l'uomo la cui moglie lavora con mia figlia

 

Principali tipi di proposizioni relative

  • Proposizioni incidentali, cioè tra virgole, danno  informazioni extra sul sostantivo e non sono essenziali

    Es: George, who lived in London for 6 months, can't speak English -> George, che ha vissuto a Londra per 6 mesi, non sa parlare inglese

     

  • Proposizioni non incidentali, cioè non tra virgole, danno informazioni essenziali sul sostantivo

    Es: The girl that/who I met at the party is from Los Angeles-> La ragazza che ho incontrato alla festa è di Los Angeles

    The girl who I gave my phone number to is from Los Angeles -> La ragazza a cui ho dato il mio numero di telefono è di Los Angeles

That non viene usato mai nelle incidentali e come complemento indiretto, cioè assieme alle preposizioni.
