When travelling on the road one must abide by the traffic rules and regulations. It is important to watch
out for sharp bends that may
bend to the right or to the left.
If on the main road you must be aware of the speed limit for every road. In Britain the speed limit on motorways
is 70 mph ( miles per hour). Speed cameras are placed on motorways and main roads to catch people
who may break the speed limit.
If you are caught
speeding you will have to pay a fine.
If a car breaks
down, the driver should try and move the car off the road so as to
prevent a traffic jam from
occurring. When it snows roads can become icy
and extremely slippery, in
these situations it is important to drive
slowly and cautiously, so
as to prevent your car from sliding
off the road or crashing
into another obstacle.
When you overtake
a car in front of you, you should check if the lane at the side is free
using your rear view mirror
or side mirrors and slowly accelerate
from one lane to the other. If an accident
has happened on the road it is advisable to slow
down and keep a steady slow
speed until you have passed the accident zone. You should always fasten your seatbelt as soon as you enter a car, and always make
sure all the doors are firmly
shut. When parking a car make sure your handbrake
is on before leaving your vehicle.
